Held on Seventh day of Seventh Month,is informally known as Chinese Valentine’s Day
Background: Formerly many Buddhists made offerings for this celebration, but now fewer and fewer make sacrifices.
Seven Elder Sisters Temple is one of the major attractions in Peng Chau, Newly married couples or couples that are yet to have any children will come here and seek blessings from the deities.
According to local legend, the wooden statue inside the temple that honours the sisters was found by the original proprietor when he went fishing.
The Seven Sisters Festival falls on the seventh day of the seventh month on the lunar calendar and is informally known as Chinese Valentine’s Day.

Therefore, newly married couples or couples that are yet to have any children will come here and seek blessings from the deities. The temple looks colorful from the outside and you need to take pictures of it.
